Top Story: Album premiere: Drunken Boat – Tied In Knots

Dublin-based indie-rockers Drunken Boat are set to release their new album later this month. Tied In Knots is the fourth LP in five years for Drunken Boat. It’s a collection of delicate post/indie rock melodies that grow with tension, swinging between sweet melancholy and heavy pain. Influences of Pavement, Sonic Youth Modest Mouse are evident in the songwriting and atmosphere: guitars caress the ears then groan (like on the irresistible ‘Santiago’), clockwork precision drums parts and choice vocals that create a beautiful sense of exhaustion and disillusion.

The album was produced by Steve Shannon (Adrian Crowley, Crayonsmith) , and partly funded thanks to Fundit.

Tied In Knots will be launched with a planned party on April 26th at The Mercantile (Dinah Brand will be there to support.) Drunken Boat will also play for Record Store Gay at Outhouse April 21st. You can listen to the album streaming in full below.
