Who are you and where are you from?

I am Roddy, I am from Scotland.

Who are your favourite artists from home?

Teenage Fanclub are my favourite Scottish group.

What’s it really like touring?

Good fun, wothwhile, inspiring, tiring

What’s your favourite city/town/venue to play?

Los Angeles and Berlin are great cities. My favourite place to play is Glasgow though.

What’s your ideal festival line-up?

Grateful dead (4 hour set), Ornette Coleman, GZA, Can.

What has been your biggest achievement of the year?

Without a doubt releasing Everything Ever Written.

What was the worst piece of advice you were given?

Never unmask a spy in Paris.

What do you do to relax?

By reading, by sleeping, by drinking beer by the fire.

What are you reading?

WG Sebald A Place in the Country.

How about TV, anything good on the box?

I don’t have a TV.

I like watching live footage of Parliment/Funkadelic.

Vetiver.

A new artist that you are most excited about?

Jonathan Wilson. He’s not that new though, but great.

What was the last great gig you have seen?

Tweedy at the London Palladium.

Worst show?

I get something out of everything I see usually.

What should we expect from your Irish shows?

A lot of great songs played well by a great band.
