Who are you and where are you from?
Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, Iceage, Copenhagen, Denmark, Europe.

Who are your favourite artists from your hometown?
There’s a lot of them. Red Flesh, Age Coin, Skurv, Hand of Dust, Damien Dubrovnik, Lower, Puce Mary, Jackman, Dogmatist, Girlseeker.

What’s it really like touring?
Lots of waiting around, fooling around, driving, drinking and little sleep.

What’s your favourite city/town/venue to play?
Mayhem, a warehouse space in Copenhagen. Tokyo. Munoz Gym, an old shed in Bakersfield where you play inside a boxing ring.

What’s your ideal festival line-up?
I’m not that much of a festival person.

What has been your biggest achievement of the last year?
Recording a new album, touring that much while sticking together as friends.

What do you do to relax?
Reading, taking walks, sleeping, hanging out with friends.

What are you reading?
Just started reading The Piano Teacher by Elfriede Jelinek, and re-reading Torture Garden.

How about TV, anything good on the box?
I can recommend a show called Fishing With John.

What’s the last thing you bought online?
I just picked up an old accordion I bought yesterday.

Who would you most like to collaborate with if you got the chance?
I don’t really see us collaborating with anyone.

Have you ever trashed your equipment? When and why?
Not on purpose. A lot of mic stands and mics have been broken.

Last weekend I saw D-clone at the Youth House and Negative Approach + Dogmatist at Stengade 30.

What should we expect from your Irish shows?
I don’t know. Us playing, for a start. Don’t expect that many songs from New Brigade.

Iceage play Belfast Limelight on November 21st, Dublin Academy 22nd.
