Special: Lingo Festival programme + State hip-hop showcase

Next month sees the return of the superb Lingo spoken word festival (Oct 16th – 18th) – featuring the likes of poet and rapper Saul Williams, Irish Slam Champ John Cummins, UK rap battling educator Mark Grist, outspoken Irish poet Elaine Feeney, viral phenomenon Hollie McNish and genre-defying music mash-up masters Tongue Fu. Download the programme here.

As with last last year, State is delighted to be involved and will host the late night Saturday hip-hop gig in the Meeting House. Headlining will be UK emcee Inja (pictured), whose work takes in dubstep, hiphop, grime, drum and bass and freestyle poetry, and Dublin collective BackShed Inc. Doors are at 11.30pm and entry is free.
