Produced as part of a five-video collection called Motion Picture Soundtrack that Denvir has been releasing throughout January, State is delighted to premiere ‘You Don’t Want To Love Me’, the third in the series, and arguably the most poignant. A multi-instrumentalist, Denvir has captured a snapshot of the gusto necessary to approach each element of the track – playing the guitar, several violin arrangements, and providing sanguine vocals to tie everything together, Denvir’s is a refreshing approach to melodic continuity.
The track itself is indicative of a young singer-songwriter with much in the way of skill. Lyrically and vocally expressive, comparisons are to be made to the likes of Badly Drawn Boy, David Gray, though Denvir’s classical background provides an intricately delicate musical scaffold to the arrangement. ‘You Don’t Want To Love Me’ is an accomplished effort from the Belfast singer-songwriter on the rise.
Keep your eyes peeled here for further videos in the series, which will be released each Friday until the 3rd of February when Denvir’s Motion Picture Soundtrack EP sees its full release.
