Shine Belfast: 21st Birthday feat. Skream, Butch, Psycatron & Scuba – Mandela Hall, Belfast – 29 October

The Courteneers – Academy, Dublin & Limelight, Belfast – 7 & 8 December
Currently touring their new album Mapping the Rendezvous, Manchester indie outfit The Courteeners have steadily built a following off of the back of five records and ever-growing live shows. Rozi Plain – The Workman’s, Dublin – 13 December
Rozi Plain‘s mish-mash of indie and alt-folk has proved favourable in the past here in Ireland, and her upcoming gig in the Workman’s, on December 13th, should see her garner some new fans. Busy building up a venerable live presence, Rozi has toured extensively this year, and will finish up 2016 with shows in Dublin and London. Tickets can be found here for €12.
The Altered Hours – Kasbah Social Club, Limerick; The Kino, Cork & The Grand Social, Dublin – 3, 10, 15 December
Having released their most-excellent sophomore album In Heat Not Sorry back in February to critical claim, The Altered Hours have toured extensively this year, and will round off 2016 with a string of much-anticipated home shows. Catch them at the Kasbah Social Club, Limerick, on December 3rd; the Kino, Cork, on December 10th, and The Grand Social, Dublin, on December 15th. Get a ticket for each gig here.
Horse Thief – The Button Factory, Dublin – 20 January
With their second album Trials and Truths set for release via Bella Union on the 27th of January, 2017, Oklahoma quintet Horse Thief will precede the launch with a show at Dublin’s Button Factory on January 20th. Trials And Truths follows Fear In Bliss, the band’s highly acclaimed debut full-length.
Bell X1 – The Olympia Theatre, Dublin – 20 January
A band that need little introduction, Bell X1 will play Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on January 20th, 2017. Forming part of a wider tour, the gig announcement comes as the band prepare to take new album ARMS on the road, with a string of dates lined up for November. Hamilton Leithauser – The Workman’s, Dublin – 12 March
Acclaimed Walkmen singer Hamilton Leithauser will tour his latest effort I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, a collaborative album with Rostam, in early 2017, stopping by The Workman’s, Dublin, on March 12th. Rostam, formerly of Vampire Weekend, will join for select dates. Tickets can be found here.
Tom Chaplin (Keane) – The Olympia Theatre, Dublin & The Ulster Hall, Belfast – 8, 9 May
Keane’s sanguine-voiced frontman Tom Chaplin is embarking on a solo tour during spring 2017 to bring his recent album The Wave to the masses. Chaplin will play a gig at The Olympia Theatre, Dublin, on May 8th, and then the Ulster Hall, Belfast, on May 9th, 2017. Tickets can be found here from Thursday.
