State Lingo and Oxjam shows this month

We like to keep busy here at State, especially on the live front, so hot on the heels of our We Shall Overcome fundraiser at the weekend comes news of two more gigs in October. First up comes a late night hip-hop special as part of the Lingo spoken word festival. Headlining will be dubstep, hip-hop, grime and drum ‘n’ bass Inja, with Dublin collective BackShed Inc playing support. It all takes place at The Meeting House in Temple Bar from 12.30am on 17th and is free in.

Next up we continue our ongoing relationship with Oxfam Ireland at the Oxjam Takeover show at the Sugar Club on October 23rd. Ourselves, The King Kong Club, Homebeat and Abner Browns have picked an act each. Simi Crowns (pictured by Olga Kuzmenko) will represent State, joined by Heroes In Hiding, Corner Boy, The Witch Trials and District Daze. Tickets are €8 + Booking fee online / €10 at the door on the night and there’s an after party with guest DJs at the East Side Tavern.
