Top Story: State’s Top 25 albums of 2010 … so far

It’s a little over half way through 2010 and probably a good time to take toll of the albums that have shaped our musical year thus far. Here is a countdown of the top 25 albums of the year as voted for by State’s esteemed team of writers…

25. Twin Sister – Color Your Life

Dreamy NYC five-piece who have been impressing left, right and centre.

24. Bonnie Prince Billy & the Cairo Gang – The Wonder Show of the World

Twenty albums in for Will Oldham and another collaboration, this time with Emmett Kelly’s Cairo Gang. Starkness and darkness ensues.

23. Hole – Nobody’s Daughter

    wow, great to see Beach House at number one. And Cast of Cheers at two. Also great. Dunno about Joanna Newsom though. Not a fan..

    the national, not in the top 5?.Iit has to be one of the best albums of the last ten years. Gorrilaz’ latest album is also not very memorable imho!
