Video: The Raconteurs – Salute Your Solution

The Raconteurs have fooled us all! No doubt some of you have a copy of Consolers of The Lonely at this stage. For those who are wondering what the fuss is all about, let us present the video to the first single ‘Salute your Solution’. It’s meat and two veg classic rock with an all-star cast so it all depends how much that floats your boat…. And if you like guitar solos straight off the Dazed and Confused soundtrack.

A Sunday Times music critic suggested ‘that the real reason they didn’t let critics near it is that it’s not as good as their excellent debut’. State isn’t that cynical however, we appreciate rock and roll honesty but we do see where he’s coming from…

You can read our Raconteurs review this Thursday when Issue 2 hits shelves.

  • Don’t mind the Sunday Times! That reviewer had 3 days at most to listen and digest the record if he was to make press. I wasn’t that blown away after the first one or two spins myself but now that I’ve played it about 10 times I think it’s really good. More chunky blues-rock riffs, and great power pop from Brendan Benson. The cover of Terry Reid’s ‘Rich Kid Blues’ is a belter. This album may even be better than the first.
