Butterfly Explosion – Academy 2, Dublin

Butterfly Explosion released their debut album ‘Lost Trails’ earlier this year on the Revive Records label. Tracks from the album have been receiving extensive airplay in Ireland from Paul McLoone (TodayFM) who simply described it as “absolutely brilliant” and Dan Hegarty (2FM) who said “It’s like My Bloody Valentine meets M83 meets Sigur Ros in Heaven”.

The album was released ahead of their appearance at the SXSW festival in the US and made an immediate impact Stateside breaking into the CMJ 200 charts having entered the Top 30 of 35 college radio stations in March.

As well as touring the US this year, the band also supported label mates God Is An Astronaut across the UK and Europe. They’ve since performed at Liverpool’s Soundcity Festival, the Electric Picnic Festival and Arthur’s Day where they played at the secret guest performance gigs by Brandon Flowers and Snow Patrol.
