Chilly Gonzales – The Sugar Club, Dublin

Multi-talented virtuoso Chilly Gonzales brings his unique ‘Piano Talk Show’ to the Sugar Club, Dublin on the 13th November. Tickets priced €19.85 including booking fee are on sale Friday 15th October.

The question “who is Chilly Gonzales?” elicits various answers: Berlin underground prankster rapper, workaholic Grammy-nominated producer, melancholic piano virtuoso or Guinness World Record holder. Now that can include IVORY TOWER writer, composer, actor and producer.

Gonzales left Canada for Berlin in 1998. Daft Punk and Bjork remixes did him well, but it wasn’t enough. So onto Paris and collaborations with Feist on her ‘Let it Die’ and ‘The Reminder’ albums.

‘Solo Piano’ then became Gonzales’ own best selling album, introducing Gonzo to an audience who actually buy music sometimes. The piano pieces were used in documentaries and in films.

To fully satisfy his insatiable ambition, only one thing was left to do and he did it: Gonzales broke the Guinness World Record for longest solo concert with 27 hours of piano.
