CODES – The Academy, Dublin

CODES confirm return to The Academy in February

Dublin indie electro band CODES have announced a return to The Academy on Saturday 20 February. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday priced €15 inclusive of booking fee.

The band launched their debut album Trees Dream In Algebra at the Middle Abbey Street venue in September and enjoyed it so much they’re returning to deliver another show stopping performance. Recorded in Gloucestershire in England by Manic Street Preachers and Super Furry Animals producer Greg Haver, CODES have played shows with the likes of Keane and the Airborne Toxic Event aswell as a stunning set at this years OXEGEN festival.

A list of great reviews for their album has seen them set themselves up as one of Irelands best up and coming bands.

‘A benchmark for Irish rock. 8/10’ Star Sunday
‘If you only buy one epic alt rock album this year make it this one’ Irish Times
‘A remarkable debut’¦ 4/5’ Irish Independent

Never ones to be content with trend-following, the group have taken the recognisable 4-piece band formula and moved it into something entirely their own.

Soaring vocal harmonies, dreamy arrangements and a calculated cryptography of electronic beats, piano, glockenspiel and analogue synthesizers permeate their sound.

CODES are Daragh Anderson (Vocals, Guitars, Samples), Eoin Stephens (Bass, Vocals, Synth), Paul Reilly (Drums, Vocals, Samples), Raymond Hogge (Guitars, Vocals, Piano, Synth).
