FuturesApart – The Academy 2, Dublin

Exciting new four-piece FuturesApart have confirmed a show in the Academy 2 on Thursday 21st October. Tickets are 7 euro, and available on the door on the night.

FuturesApart are a four piece futuromatic band from Wexford, Ireland. Having met in Dublin’s National College of Art and Design concepts of futurism, contemporary modernism and art deco brought the quartet together. The band draws their influences from books and cinematic interpretations such as Metropolis, 1984 and A Clockwork Orange.

Each member brings their own strengths to the group, drawing from their varied personal tastes thus creating a fiercely original yet familiar sound of intense energy. Think Duran Duran meets Interpol with a one night stand with Franz Ferdinand.

Since February 2010 Futures Apart has shared the stage with Hurts, The Magic Numbers, The View, The Coronas, Fionn Regan and Duke Special. Futures Apart are working in the studio under the ears and guidance of Neosupervital man Tim O Donavan. Their debut EP is out in Ireland in early October 2010.

Tickets available €7 on the door
