And what a year. Since being handpicked as a virtual unknown by Jools Holland to perform on his show last year Imelda May’s career has gone into overdrive. Signing to Universal Music, the sultry songstress has dominated the Irish album charts for the last 8 months. Her stunning number one double platinum selling debut ‘Love Tattoo’ has remained in the top 12 for 29 weeks, with hit singles Johnnys Got a Boom Boom and Big Bad Handsome Man attracting massive airplay. Not only that, Imelda is the first Irish female solo artist to top the charts with an album of original material in a staggering 14 years. And it doesn’t stop here.
