Josh Ritter & Band
Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin – Tuesday 27th April 2010
Tickets on sale this Monday 14th December at 9am priced €36 (incl.bk fee) from www.ticketmaster.ie

With 5 studio albums and 2 live albums in his catalogue Josh Ritter returns to Dublin for a very special evening at the brand new (and super lush) Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin’s Docklands. Josh has spent most of 2009 with his touring band, working on a new record. Having performed in Dublin and Cork with a 24 piece orchestra and around the country in October with a new string band, Josh is delighted to bring this band of brothers to the Grand Canal Theatre. Josh recently completed a UK tour with Ray LaMontagne, a US theatre tour (with The Low Anthem as support) and is special guest on the Swell Season shows in Europe in the New Year. Three of Josh’s albums ; Golden Age Of Radio, Hello Starling and The Animal Years were released in deluxe editions in Ireland in 2009.

The Grand Canal Theatre will be Ireland’s largest touring theatre for Musicals, Ballet, Family Shows, Drama, Concerts and Opera. The theatre will have the largest theatre stage in the country which will open the door to large theatrical productions which were previously unable to visit these shores.

Situated overlooking the Grand Canal Square and Grand Canal Dock in the centre of Dublin, Grand Canal Theatre is well served by public transport – Bus, Rail, Luas and Dart services all within a 20 minute walk from the venue. This iconic building was designed by world renowned architect Daniel Libeskind.

‘Pretty soon, I predict, there will only be two kinds of people left in the world’”those who recognize Josh Ritter as the newest and reigning Genius American Singer-Songwriter and those who haven’t heard him yet. So sit back and listen. You’ve had a hard day. But your work is done. You’re owed some joy.’
