Luke Unabomber, Kistar (Live Funk/Disco) – The Sugar Club, Dublin

realdjs presents:

Luke Unabomber
Kistar (Live Funk/Disco)

A great double bill in store for The Sugar Club come Nov 20th. Luke Cowdrey, one half of Mancunian legends, “The Unabombers” and local Funk / Disco live act “Kistar” take to the stage for a night of musical bliss.
Luke played a sell-out show last summer in The Sugar Club and by all accounts it was a mega-night. He’s known for his excellent sets, flowing through genres with everything from House, Disco, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul and even Techno thrown into the mix. He claims “my sets are on fire at the moment as there is so much good underground music out there right now.” He should know, he DJ’s everywhere from his Electric Elephant festival (Croatia) to Manchester all the way to Australia and back. His label has featured the likes of Calvin Harris, Amp Fiddler and The Parrish. Featuring the very best in contemporary Disco, Broken-Beat and House with a rich vein of Funk and Soul.
Alongside Luke are local Funk / Disco act Kistar. They are making quite a name from themselves at the moment with regular slots in The Sugar Club and elsewhere around the country. Shelly Bukspan (originally from NYC) on lead vocals, Mr Razor on Guitar, Mark and Gar Frequency on Bass and Decks plus Jim “The Funky Drummer.” on drums, naturally. They play some original material alongside mash-ups of classic Disco tunes, Good Times, Rock me Again and the like. They really have been receiving rave reviews for recent gigs and are well worth catching in such intimate surroundings. The Sugar Club should be perfect for a night like this. Great music the whole way and a party atmosphere guaranteed. Only 10euro for an international DJ plus a live act, this show comes highly recommended.
