During his seventeen year career Ryan Adams has released sixteen albums including his latest, Prisoner. His songwriting abilities have continuously garnered high praise from critics and fans, alike. Regarded as a pioneer of writing songs that speak for and to a broken heart, Adams is one of the most loved and celebrated artists of his generation. It would appear that there is no slowing down the songwriter who has just announced an worldwide tour which will bring him across America, Australia and Europe.
Prisoner, is the multi-Grammy Award nominee’s first collection of new songs since he went rogue by recording a track-by-track cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 record. In his new material Adams writes about his divorce from Mandy Moore, meaning that there is a melancholic tone to this chapter in his career. One can only imagine then how personal and heartfelt seeing these songs will be performed live.
Irish fans will be delighted to hear that the American musician will be playing a mixture of his abundant discography on our island for three dates in September. Adams will perform in Belfast’s Ulster Hall, the Cork Opera House and Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, dates below.
