Spoon – The Academy, Dublin

Spoon have confirmed an Irish date as part of a European tour later this year. The Texan indie rock band will play the Academy, Dublin on Thursday 18 November. Tickets priced €25 incl. booking fee are on sale from this Monday 26th April.

Formed in 1993 by lead singer/guitarist Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Eno, Spoon have released 7 studio albums, the latest Transference, released in January of this year. Its debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart selling over 50,000 copies in its first week.

Britt Daniel and Brian Reitzell composed and arranged the soundtrack to the movie Stranger than Fiction in 2006. Spoons music has also featured in TV shows like Veronica Mars, The Simpsons, Chuck and the OC as well as the movies Cloverfield and (500) Days of Summer.
