Downtownsounds and Radiomade are proud to present a one off party with Detroit turntable maestro and deep house don Terrence Parker. Though Detroit is more famed for tougher techno sounds, Parker is one of a handful from the city who has dedicated himself to the more sweet, soulful and funky side of the jack. His melodious mid 90’s productions such as ‘Love’s Got Me High’, ‘Your Love’ and ‘The Question’ are treasured amongst the deep house fraternity for their sweet harmonies and driving, hypnotic rhythms. His dj’ing style marries a hip hop style cut’n’paste aesthetic to uplifting house as well as funk, soul and disco classics. What results is something truly inventive and unique, a sound he has brought to over 150 cities throughout the world.
As well as garnering huge amounts of underground respect over his 30 year career behind the turntables, TP has remixed popular artists such as Kelly Rowland, Vickie Winans, Michelle Williams, Chris Brown, Kanye West and Christina Aguilera. His incredible DJing talents can be heard regularly on Detroit FM Radio’s CHANNEL 955 “The Pulse” (Detroit’s No 1 Pop Radio Station). We are proud to have him return to Dublin for what should be an unforgettable show in the grand spanking new surroundings of The Grand Social.
Support on the night will come from Niall Redmond, a Dublin based DJ who has been playing soulful house and US garage since 1995. In that time he has held residencies at influential Dublin clubs such as The Kitchen, Mono, The Redbox, Spirit, Traffic and Switch. He currently presents THE DIGITAL GROOVE nationwide every Monday 9 -11PM on RTE Pulse, the national broadcaster’s dance specialist station.
