5 Familiar Faces

1. THE KILLERS, Main Stage, Sunday
No strangers to Oxegen, The Killers are guaranteed crowd pleasers, finishing off the last night of Oxegen ’09 with a bevy of hits from their three albums. -Mister Brightside’ alone should be worth the price of admission.

2. KINGS OF LEON, Main Stage, Saturday
Oxegen just wouldn’t be Oxegen without the Followill family. Just don’t expect lots of leaping around and audience interaction: this is no-nonsense, heads-down southern rawk, which should turn an entire field into a mosh pit.

3. SNOW PATROL, Main Stage, Friday
Gary Lightbody & Co. return to the scene of some of their greatest triumphs for what promises to be one of the finest homecomings since Podge & Rodge’s glorious return to Ballydung Manor. Anthems a go-go.

4. OCEAN COLOUR SCENE, Main Stage, Sunday
Regular visitors to these shores, OCS begin proceedings on Sunday’s Main Stage in what should prove to be a perfect pick-me-up for the festival’s final day. With crackers in their canon like -Riverboat Song’, -Huckleberry Grove’ and -The Day We Caught The Train’, they should be the perfect way to restart the party.

5. FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS, O2 Stage, Friday
Once as familiar as sight in Dublin as Goths at the Central Bank or the woman waving the crucifix on O’Connell Street, Huey Morgan’s mob have been quiet of late. That should all be put right, however, when they bring their own brand of cartoon funk rock to the O2 Stage on Friday.
