Top Story: Album Premiere: The Dying Seconds – Glimmerers

It’s not often that an artist of the standing of The National’s Aaron Dresner hails upcoming Irish talent as “the ferocious coming out of a great new band”, but it was the Dying Seconds who moved him to such eloquence. Evolving from the duo of David Cantan and Jack Quilligan, the Dubliners now number six members and are making music that employs those extra hands to maximum effect. Their second record Glimmerers is an album of ambition and scope, influenced by the likes of Efterklang, Bat for Lashes and, surprise surprise, The National. The band launch the physical version of the record with a live show at the Grand Social in Dublin this Saturday 19th, with a digital edition to follow in January.
