Band of Horses announce Vicar St show

Having recently released their compelling fifth studio album, Why Are You OK, South-Carolina indie outfit Band Of Horses have announced that they’ll be embarking on a tour, with a stop off at Dublin’s Vicar St pencilled in for February 15th, 2017. The Ben Bridwell-led five-piece have supported the likes of Pearl Jam and Neil Young in recent years, as well as toured extensively over their decade-long career.

Bridwell, who released a strikingly beautiful album of covers called Sing Into My Mouth last year with Iron & Wine, has said of his mainstay band’s latest album “There’s something about this record and us taking more control of how we went about it. I really wanted to know the stories a bit better; I wasn’t under pressure to hurry up. I didn’t want to start getting too clever for fear of exposing myself. I expose myself all over this album. Sometimes you can try to get too clever or write a whole song about absolute drivel because you were afraid to make it into a more real thing. I guess I made an effort to be less of a coward.”

We’re sure there won’t be much “drivel” on offer come the Vicar St show; tickets for which go on sale this Friday, here, priced at 33.50.
