It was early in 2010 when Peter Gabriel released Scratch My Back, an orchestral-assisted covers album where he recorded his own versions of the likes of The Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Paul Simon, Magnetic Fields, Neil Young, Radiohead and Talking Heads. On the record he covered ‘Flume’ by Bon Iver and, as the name would imply, Bon Iver responded by covering one of Peter Gabriel’s own tracks, ‘Come Talk To Me’.
The song was leaked online and there was a limited number of vinyls pressings for last year’s Record Store Day. Now Justin Vernon has announced that ‘Come Talk To Me’ will be the b-side to ‘Holocene’, the latest track to released off Bon Iver (the album).
Here’s that song again, below that Peter Gabriel’s original recording, and below that again, Peter Gabriel’s version of ‘Flume’.
