CC Smugglers to play Upstairs at Whelan’s

Once touted as ‘the best live band on the scene” by Catatonia front-woman, and now BBC 6 Music Presenter Cerys Matthews, the UK’s answer to the hillbilly country scene, CC Smugglers have announced a gig for Upstairs at Whelan’s on Thursday, July 28th. Having originally started their career as a busking band on the streets of London, the Bedfordshire group have had a 2015 to remember, selling out venues across the UK, as well as playing numerous festivals all around Europe. Currently writing new music for a brand new record set for release in early 2016, the band are sure to put on a show-stopping performance at Whelan’s this summer.

Tickets for CC Smugglers’ Upstairs at Whelan’s gig go on sale this Friday, April 15th and are available here for the price of €14.

For a quick taster, here’s a clip of the band performing their song ‘Lydia’ at the Cambridge Folk Festival recently.
