Derrick Dalton RIP

State is saddened to hear of the passing of Derrick Dalton, member of Mexican Pets and Crumb plus many other bands from the Dublin underground of the late eighties and early nineties. Derrick was a great help to us when we were putting togther our article on the Hope collective and was a fine ambassador for that scene, it’s beliefs and it’s inspiring way of doing things. State sends it’s condolences to Derrick’s wife Laura and his family.

  • The Ruby Tailights

A true guitar hero in every sense! I’m so sad! He was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met playing in any band. RIP.

  • It’s so so sad

I’ve known derrick for about 15 yrs through bands – gigs etc. and most definitley one of the gentlist and nicest men in Irish music. I lost my fiance last year to suicide so I know the pain laura must be going through. all my thoughts and love are with her.

  • Such a tragedy. Derrick was a lovely, lovely guy – always helpful. I’m stuck for words but he was a true gent. Sincere condolences to Laura and the family
