First up: The Circus tent & The Little Big Tent
As the evenings main entertainment winds down, late night revelers at this year’s Picnic will be delighted to hear about 2 new areas that start late and finish even later…
Antics, one of the biggest Indie Clubs in Dublin, combine with Ireland’s finest music festival to offer picnickers a truly unique party experience in The Fossett’s Circus Tent for all 3 nights from 11.00pm to 3am each night. Taking over from the clowns and trapeze artists, Antics will bring you the best of indie new and old with a very special unforgettable line-up. Friday night Antics Djs in association with Climaxx will host a very special pyjama party. So pack you best Pjs and you could win a very special Antics at the Picnic good bag.
On Saturday night, Antics teams up with one of the biggest Indie Nights in Galway, Strange Brew, offering up a wonderful combination of DJs who live and breathe great music and even better sessions. Held every Thursday in the Roisin Dubh, now approaching its 300th night, it brings you Indie beats, alternative rock and good vibrations from the past, the present and the not too distant future!! The likes of Battles to Tony Bennett to Modest Mouse to Why? Toots to Pixies, Hot Chip to Dan Deacon and back again. And, leaving the best till last on Sunday, Antics finish Sunday night with one of their most exciting acts – Meneo.
From the circus tent to the Little Big Tent, the Electric Picnic brings you M*A*S*H Soundsystem on Friday night from 11.00pm – 3.00pm. Renowned in Dublin for their regular Thursday Club night at Dublin’s South William bar. Mash-Ups, Bootlegs, Breaks, Edits, Riddims, Versions, Covers & Originals.
The Mash Soundsystem comprises of 2 DJs on 3 decks, 2 MCs and a b-boy crew, all with varied backgrounds: Cooking up the funky breaks in this ‘Picnic-Soul-Stew’ is Polish scratch DJ, Matjazz (Breakology), while Dublin DJ, LexWoo (Afronova/Babalonia/Amsterdam Beat Club) brings the tropical flavours. MC Little Tree’s roots reggae style toasting adds a little herbal infusion to the pot and MC Leroy Culture (Elbow Room) stirs it all together on the mic with that unmistakable West London style
