EMI put Abbey Road studios up for sale

Following its much reported financial problems, it seems that EMI is selling the famous Abbey Road Studios in St John’s Wood, London. According to the Financial Times, it’s unclear whether the label is also selling the brand name alongside the property that it bought for £100,000 in 1929.

  • Major Alfonso

Get Back was filmed on the roof of Apple Corps on Saville Row wasn’t it? Not Abbey Road?

  • A very poignant illustration of the internet’s knock on effect on today’s music industry this. Once again “the old world order” is left scrabbling to adjust to new realities. Few places as iconic in pop music history. Hope whoever buys it heeds its legacy…
