Ex-QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveri may face 15 years in prison

It’s been seven years since Nick Oliveri was fired from Queens Of The Stone Age after a tour of Australia in 2004. While Oliveri was keeping busy playing with his own band Mondo Generator and bass in Kyuss Lives!, it now looks like he might have to put all of that on hold after an incident last month which involved a police SWAT team.

Oliveri apparently refused to let his girlfriend leave the house and the incident escalated to a four-hour standoff with the police in Los Angeles. Once he was apprehended, police found a fully-loaded rifle, cocaine and methamphetamines on the property. Oliveri has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanour count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a police officer. If he is convicted on all counts, he will serve a maximum of 15 years in prison.
