Billed as a chance to “get some of the best artists from the Irish underground together for a weekend of music, with a focus on live sets”, the inaugural Open Ear festival will take place on Sherkin Island, over the June Bank Holiday weekend and will champion the rich landscape of underground, Irish electronic and experimental music. Featured acts include Spaces, Ordinate, Ellll, Double Glaze in collaboration with Mariah Black, Sunken Foal (pictured), wherethetimegoes feat. Minos and Lastminuteman, Ed Devane, Niamh De Barra, Meljoann (ahead of the release of her new LP), T-Woc, Cholera House (a new project from one half of Piratical Hip-Hop mentalists Melodica Deathship) and Ger Duffy’s School Tour project, where Cabaret Voltaire collides with Eno.
