Festival news: Sonar, Arenal Sound, Roskilde & Camp Bestival

Sonar have added M.I.A., Die Antwoord, Cut Copy, Boys Noize and Buraka Som Sistema to Sónar Galicia while Shackleton, Nicolas Jaar, Africa Hitech, Global Communication, Paul Kalkbrenner and Steve Aoki have been added to Sónar Barcelona.

Not too far away in Valencia, 5 miles south from Benicassim, Arenal Sound 2011 will place from 4th to 7th of August. Taking place on Arenal Beach, the lineup so far consists of Scissor Sisters, The Charlatans, The Third Twin, Vive la Fête, Delorean and El Guincho. The festival promises 24 non-stop hours of music a day, as well as water, extreme sports and beach tournaments. Last year’s event saw 100,000 people hit the beach. Tickets are £35 for a four day festival ticket with five days camping with a 10-day camping ticket available for £40. More info.

Camp Bestival is happening from 28th to 31st of July in Lulworth Castle in Dorset, UK. Laura Marling has been announced as the special guest with Blondie, Mark Ronson & the Business Intl, House Of Pain, Katy B, Tinie Tempah’s right hand man Labrinth and more added including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Café. Scottish Festival Rockness have added Glasvegas, The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club, Magnetic Man, Groove Armada Presents Red Light, DJ Shadow, The Cribs, We Are Scientists, Frightened Rabbit, Example, Katy B, Simian Mobile Disco, Mark Ronson and Boys Noize. to their initial lineup. More details.
