Fever Ray and more for Oxegen 2009

State couldn’t be more excited about the latest addition to the Oxegen 2009 line-up. Among others, Fever Ray have been added to the bill. If reports from her shows around Europe are anything to go by this promises to be the highlight of the weekend. Let’s hope it’s in a tent and that they bring their lasers (see below).

Also announced were Deadmau5, Japanese Popstars, Frankmusik and BURNS for Friday 10th. Felix Da Housecat, MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots and Kissy Sell Out will play the Sunday 12th.

It’s in the Dance Arena / warehouse.

  • Yeah? I thought I’d never step foot in that shed again. Bring it on!

  • Wrong festival. Why didn’t the Picnic grow some balls and book Fever Ray? Now I have to go to Poxegen to see her. It’ll probably be wasted on the collective arse that is the Oxegen crowd and the sound will undoubtedly be compromised in the midst of the thunderous “what the fuck is this shite?”, “depressing bitch”, etc. (comments courtesy of the whole crowd at Beth Gibbons in Oxegen a few years back)

Is it wrong to be so miffed? Yeah, we get to see Fever Ray live, but c’mon. It couldn’t happen in a worse place. Here’s hoping all the sound heads turn up for it, like the Róisín Murphy gig last year.

Oh and Alan, her live contracts stipulate that the set is late and after dark. Which is the only way truly geat music should be performed.

Cool have to go to this now, where would one buy a GAA top? do they give the straw hats out with the ticket or do you collect them at the entrance. I still have nightmares after seeing Vitalic in that shed

  • oXXgEn DOESN’T DESERVE FEVER RAY.

Had the Unique opportunity of seeing Fever Ray at Oxegen :D:D

I was sooooo happy when i heard fever ray was playing, I actually screamed in joy!

Amazing show, I hope to christ that they decide to come back to Ireland/Northern Ireland!

I didn’t think there was enough people in the crowd to do the band justice but sure, it’s the real fans that count isn’t it.

    Truely amazing performance!
