First Fortnight hosts gig to raise mental health awareness

Codes, And So I Watch You From Afar, Dark Room Notes and Le Galaxie are all playing at this years First Fortnight gig in the Button Factory on January 15. The event aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and the prejudices that surround them.

Daragh Anderson from the Codes described how:

A gig like this is great, as not only does music bring people together, it also clearly shows that mental health problems aren’t taboo, and that simply by being open and talking about it, we can help fight the prejudice and discrimination that exists.

The gig is preceded by a free public mental health symposium from 1-3pm on the day which will discuss attitudes and behaviours towards people with mental health problems in Ireland today.
