Futureperfect Festival launched in Sweden

Futureperfect is a new festival kicking off its first year in Karlstad, Sweden on the 28-31 July, being billed as “the festival that explores what’s possible. It celebrates the many ways that ordinary people can individually and collectively create lifestyles for better personal and planetary health. It’s time to go beyond recycling!”

There are plenty of local Swedish and Danish musical talent on the bill including Titiyo, Jennie Abrahamson (who toured with Ane Brun), Loney Dear, and State favourites ASS.

The event is aiming to inspire people in the area of sustainable living and they have a wealth of speakers on the subject from all over Europe: John Thackara (FR, Doors of Perception), Carolyn Steel (UK, The Hungry City), Maria Westerberg (SE, furniture designer).

For the first time in a festival context they’ll have forums, seminars, hands-on workshops, all to give inspiration in getting on with our planet and coming up with ways of not making a balls of it – a most admirable pursuit.

If that sounds like the event you’ve been waiting for (and you fancy a bit of Sweden in the late summer) tickets and other info are available at www.futureperfect.se – here’s what organiser John Manoochehri has to say:
