Gary Moore RIP

Legendary guitarist Gary Moore has died. According to reports, the 58-year-old Belfast-born musician was on holidays in Spain when he passed away in his sleep. He’s best known for the time he spent in Thin Lizzy and for his solo career, during which he wrote several classic rock songs, including ‘Parisienne Walkways’ and ‘Out In The Fields’, which he recorded with former Thin Lizzy bandmate Phil Lynott. He was also a member of BBM, where he played alongside ex-Cream members Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, as well playing in Colosseum II with Don Airey and Jon Hiseman, and appeared live alongside B.B. King on several occasions.

  • Another great musician has left us. How much poorer can the music get? We will always remember you when you honor us by your great music. Thank you for all of the great stuff you made.

  • Goran

RIP Man…You should perform in Serbia last year…Now there will be no chance.:(

Very, very sad news. As on post said, how much poorer can music get – we lost Ronnie Jams Dio laast year. I was disgusted to see that Gary barely got a mention on RTE news; symptomatic of the way the world is going. RIP Gary. I saw you at the SFX in 1986: awesome.

So very very sad, you were my hero. I had the honour to be at the Blues for Greeny gig at the Albert Hall with BB King, Albert Collins and George Harrison, you blew them all away! Still performed at the small Vibes from the Vines charity festival in Vines Cross, East Sussex most years and brought your mates! A real legend and a true guitar hero who played with such emotion it was unbelievable. You may be gone, but you will NEVER be forgotten.

Great Memories. Especially at the Marquee and at the Hammersmith Odeon with Thin Lizzy! Blues/Rock he was great. His voice was fine – Falling In Love With You – a classic love song.

He will be missed but the music will live on!

  • Martin

Probably the best guitar player ever in Ireland.

    NO.1 for me.

There will be great music in the heavens.

I hope we will meet some day.

  • Laura Doty

Well….Obviously God was not done picking who he needed for that AWESOME band he is creating in the heavens above….. It will indeed be a FAB GIG up above.
That is a show you would pay with your LIFE to see. Mr. Moore you & your music will forever be in my IPOD and in my heart <3. RIP

  • Gary will be sadly missed by us all. I remember our guitarist Vincent McCusker playing us all Skid Row and their track “Felicity” live on the John Peel show which he had recorded on a reel to reel. We all just were amazed as we are forever at the talent that is Gary Moore. Our hearts are sore with our grief. Our condolences go to his loved ones.
