Gig announcement roundup: Cut Copy, Why?, Billy Bragg, Chase & Status, Okkervil River Nightbox & more

A roundup of recent gig announcements:

  • Toronto via California via Wicklow, Nightbox are the latest catchy indie-pop band to sign to Kitsuné and the will play The Academy 2, Dublin on August 30th 2011. Tickets are priced €12.45 inclusive of booking fee.
  • Why? bring their acoustic piano tour on Saturday 22nd October in Button Factory. Unreserved seats & standing tickets on sale now at €20 plus fees.
  • Cut Copy play Button Factory on Tuesday 25 October . Tickets €22.50 plus fees on sale now.
  • Okkervil River play The Button Factory on Friday November 18th. Tickets on sale now priced €25 (plus fees).
  • Billy Bragg plays The Button Factory on Friday, October 28th. Tickets are €23 plus fees from usual outlets.
  • DJ Mo Laudi and Etienne Tron bring their Secousse Soundsystem to Twisted Pepper on August 26th .Support from DJ iZem. Admission: €15.
  • Little Dragon play Crawdaddy on Tuesday 29th November. Tickets €15 plus fees.
  • Benjamin Francis Leftwich recently played a sell out show at Upstairs at Whelan’s and has just announced his return. He will play The Sugar Club, Dublin on November 2nd. Tickets are priced €15 inclusive of booking fee – on sale from this Wednesday, 10th August at 9am. He also plays The Stiff Kitten, Belfast the night before on Thursday November 3rd. Tickets are £11.50 on sale now.
  • We thought Miracle Fortress as a project was over but Graham Van Pelt is back and playing Crawdaddy on Sunday 11th September. Tickets €14 plus fees.
  • Whipping Boy will follow their set at this year’s Oxegen with a show where they will play the entirety of their Heartworm album from 1995 in The Academy on September 17th. Tickets are priced €21.50 inclusive of booking fee.
  • Homegrown Music Festival in the INEC Killarney, Kerry has been announced for August 26th to the 28th. It will see 30 bands over 4 stages, food stalls, a carnival and more. Bands lined up to play include Republic Of Loose, Ryan Sheridan, Mundy, Damien Dempsey, O Emperor, Royseven, Pugwash, Jamie Lawson, HAL, Fred and more… Day Tickets €17.45 /Weekend Tickets €25.00.
  • Alex Winston has been announced as support for The Naked & The Famous Sunday 13th – Dublin, Olympia November. Tickets €25.00 plus fees for that one.

  • Two dance acts for upcoming gigs in The Academy: Digitalism play Sunday 30th October (€29 plus fees) while Chase & Status play on Sunday 20th of November (€25 plus fees). C&S also play Mandela Hall on Saturday 19th November.Tickets £19.50
  • DJ Sasha has been lined up to play Button Factory on Friday 30 September. Tickets are €22.50 Gen Admin or €25.00 for “VIP Balcony.”
