Gig announcement roundup: Iron & Wine, DD/MM/YYYY, Concern Fastival, Bassnectar & more

Iron & Wine have announced a date at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin on March 14th 2011 as part of a wider European tour to promote their upcoming fourth album Kiss Each Other Clean. Tickets are €27.50 (plus fees).

Welsh rockers Kids In Glass Houses play Dublin’s Academy on Saturday December 11th and 12th at Mandela Hall, Belfast. Tickets for Dublin are priced €19.50 plus fees and Belfast is €15. Both gigs are over 14s events and as a result no alcohol will be served.

DD/MM/YYYY play Crawdaddy this Sunday November 7th with support from Kid Karate. Tickets: €12 plus fees.

Hurts will play The Academy on 7th February 2011 with special guest Clare Maguire. Tickets priced €19.50 go on sale this Friday.

San Fran DJ BassNectar plays the same venue on Friday 19th of November. Tickets are €15 plus fees and support comes from DJ Chewy.

Dublin songwriter Ivan St John plays The Workman’s Club on Saturday December 4th. Tickets are €10.

As part of Concern’s Worldwide Fast, this year Concern Fastival has been launched – ‘the fast that thinks it’s a festival’ and aims to raise €1 million for childhood malnutrition. The Concern Fastival will take place on November 25th and 26th in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Offaly to entertain those who are taking part in the Concern Fast.

  • Dublin The Jimmy Cake, The Last Tycoons, NouveauNoise & Clockwork Noise will play Whelan’s on Wexford Street
  • Cork – RSAG, Slow Motion Heroes, Circus Cats & Hope is Noise will play the Pavilion Bar and Hugenot’s Corner
  • Limerick – Windings, The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra & Vertigo Smyth will play in The Loft on George’s Quay
  • Offaly – on 24th November The Chieftans will play in the Tullamore Court Hotel
