Gig news round-up – Owen Pallet, Specials, Sisters & more

It’s been a busy, busy few days for gig news so – to save you the hassle – here’s the pick of the bunch.

They got back together, they got back together again to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary and now The Specials are getting back together again to celebrate five years since they got back together in the first place. See them at Olympia Theatre on November 3rd and Ulster Hall on 4th.

Vicar Street, are you ready to be heartbroken? Camera Obscura (pictured) return from maternity leave and to Dublin on May 26th.

DJ kicks – Mike Skinner (Whelan’s, 6th March) / David Holmes (Set Theatre Kilkenny, April 19th)

Mineral, the latest incarnation of Power Of Dreams’ Craig Walker, play Whelan’s (27th March), Roisín Dubh (29th).

Two for your St Patricks Day diary. The Frank & Walters, Kila, Early House & Interskalactic play a post parade show at Button Factory. The Workman’s, meanwhile, there’s the first of their weekenders featuring Overhead The Albatross, Squarehead, The Notas, Other Creatures, Exploding Eyes, Otherkin, Death In The Sickroom, Jetsetter, Beach, Late City Edition, Galants, Gav & Thee Icons, Ad Ateris plus a good deal of other delights.

And finally, this lot play Vicar St on July 9th. Break out the black….
