Gig round-up: Other Voices Derry, Trivium and more

Before we sign off for the weekend here’s some gig news we missed:

Other Voices Derry was announced late last year and, as you might have seen, Poliça, George Ezra and Foy Vance are the first three acts to be announced for the event’s second go round at the city’s Glassworks venue. The Music Trail, IMRO Other Room and Banter salon will also return.

Tickets are free and can be won through various online and media competitions which began this week on the Other Voices website. For your chance to win a weekend pass to the Glassworks visit http://derry2014.othervoices.ie/content/band-guess before 11am on Monday 13th January. If you can’t make it into the venue, there will be live streaming around the city as well as online on rte.ie and theguardian.com.

Floridian thrash outfit Trivium will play the Academy, Dublin on 17th June. Tickets are €28 and go on sale next Monday (13th January) here.

Dice and Movements announced two nights at the Button Factory earlier in the week. They will pair up to put on the unfortunately-named Wankelmut on 14th February and Finnebassen on 7th March. Tickets for both shows are €12 (early bird) and €15 (general). On sale here for Wankelmut and here for Finnebassen as well as through Resident Advisor.

Finally, the ‘Live’ Last Waltz will return to the Olympia Theatre on 16th March. The Group’s two-hour tribute to the Band’s famous concert film will feature a ten-piece band, full brass section and special guests. Tickets are €22.90 and are on sale now via ticketmaster.ie and at the Olympia box office.
