This August bank holiday weekend sees Improvised Music Company move their Hotter Than July event to Smithfield Square. After two successful years at Meeting House Square, Hotter Than July will now be celebrating Ireland’s rich cultural diversity on the north side of the Liffey, with a wealth of music on offer, from Congolese jazz fusion to Irish trad fusion from the west coast of Clare.
The family-friendly event features world music and jazz inflected rhythms from Niwel Tsumbu (pictured), Jiggy, Fakoli, Balkan Alien Sound, Nava, i4Drum, Big Bang African Drum Project and Maracatu Ilha Brilhante, plus a very special guest who will be announced on the morning of the event. Check out the youtube playlist below to get a taste of some of the acts featuring on what promises to be a very special afternoon in Smithfield.
Hotter Than July runs from 3pm until 9pm on Sunday 31st July at Smithfield Square.
