Elephant receives HWCH Conor Walsh Memorial Bursary

Hard Working Class Heroes have named Dundalk’s Elephant (Shane Clarke) as the winner of their Conor Walsh Memorial bursary. An alumni and friend of the festival, Walsh unexpectedly passed away in March.  At this year’s HWCH, all 100 bands participating were asked to vote for the act who most embodies Conor’s talent and bravery among their number. Elephant will be awarded €2,500 toward a recording or touring bill.

State would like to congratulate Shane on a well-deserved win.

HWCH have also made available podcasts recorded during the industry convention portion of the festival, and these can be found here. Topics include How to apply for a US performance Visa, 21st Century Labels, a conversation with Chris Douridas and many more.

HWCH returns next year on 28th, 29th and 30th September 2017.
