Jenny Huston to leave RTÉ

Jenny Huston is to present her last show on RTÉ 2FM next week as she leaves the station on September 6th. Huston says “becoming a full-time DJ was a dream come true. Getting paid to listen to and play new music is such a privilege. I have been exceptionally lucky to present a show without playlist restrictions on 2fm for over 9 years now and while I have loved my time in RTÉ, it is time to move on. After a spot of travelling I will be moving into music supervision. It hasn’t been an easy decision for me to make and I would like to thank RTÉ, and especially John McMahon, for the support.”

She continued: “I feel enormously grateful to have introduced so much new music and to have played a very small part in so many artists’ stories and for all of the opportunities I have been given and friends I have made during my time in RTÉ. I am going to miss my show and I am really going to miss the listeners. The nightly interaction, sharing music back-and-forth with people that are as passionate about music as I am, is what made me fall in love with radio in the first place. So thank you to all of you; see you at a gig sometime soon.”

What the hell is ‘music supervision’?
