Joe Echo joins INXS as lead singer

Random news today as Ciaran Gribbin aka Joe Echo has been announced as the lead singer of INXS. Let that soak in there…

You can listen to a demo of ‘Tiny Summer’ with Gribbin on vocals at their website. The band are recording music for their new album with Gribbin who will also join them on their worldwide tour with dates in South America, Australia, and Europe.

Gribbin is actually no stranger to well-known names having worked with Madonna, Groove Armada, Snow Patrol and Paul Oakenfold as well as the soundtrack to the movie Killing Bono and others in the past.

“It’s all so amazing and sometimes overwhelming, especially when I look up and see that my writing partner is one of the greatest songwriters of our time,” said Gribbin.

Gribbin is the latest singer to fill Michael Hutchence’s shoes including J.D Fortune, the winner of the reality TV show Rock Star: INXS to find the band a new singer. Fortune said he was let go from the band with a shake of the hand at an airport in Hong Kong after a world tour . Fortune had become addicted to cocaine during his time with INXS.
