Lana Del Rey – ‘Blue Jeans’

New York soulstress Lana Del Rey aka Lizzy Grant has released a new track called ‘Blue Jeans’ which is the follow up to her previously released ‘Video Games’. Del Rey is a mix of old school 1950/60’s glamour puss meets modern day hip hop chic; as she merges the two fashion styles in her music, videos and look.

Though the promotion of Lana has been called into question in terms of authenticity, there’s no denying the songs.

I will love you till the end of time/ I would wait a million years/ Promise you’ll remember that your mine/ Baby can you see through the tears.

Lana’s unique nostalgic sound is complemented by the accompanying video which merges old video reels from the 1960s and 1970s with quirky modern day footage to produce a distorted cinematic homage to her ex lover. Del Rey is currently working on her as yet untitled new record, but, the double sided single ‘Video Games/ Blue Jeans’ is due out on October 14th in Ireland, via Stranger Records.

  • I deny the songs… they’re not that great.
