Le Cool – the free weekly cultural guide launches

A new online, culture and entertainment, guide for Dublin launched this week. Le Cool is a network of alternative city guides published around the world in cities like Barcelona, Madrid, London, Lisbon, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Budapest and Moscow every week.

The free email newsletter profiles what’s happening of note every week in gigs, culture, exhibitions, talks fashion and whatever you’re having yourself. You can sign up here.

Originally founded in 2003 by Swedish publisher René Lönngren, Le Cool now reaches over 210,000 people every week across Europe and has expanded to offer city guide books also. Commenting on the decision to start a Dublin edition, editor Ciaran Walsh said, ‘I think it is relevant to Dublin now more than ever. We are seeing the emergence of a DIY culture whereby people are choosing to stamp their own creative claim on the city. The availability of spaces, which were previously considered out of bounds, makes it all the more challenging.

‘Le Cool is both a celebration of the best Dublin has to offer and a call to action in itself. We select between 15 to 20 events every week that we truly believe will allow people to think of more options than just going to the pub. We want to help people find postive and unique experiences in our great city.
‘These can cover everything from flea markets, table quizzes, talks, gigs, exhibitions, recitals, fashion, parties, collectives, festivals and whatever our subscribers alert us to,’ he added.
