Listen: Bat For Lashes – ‘In God’s House’

Having been fairly quiet since 2012’s The Haunted Man, Natasha Khan, best known by her Bat For Lashes moniker, has revealed details of new album The Bride (out July 1st), but not before sharing ‘In God’s House’, the second, synth-driven track to be taken from the forthcoming full-length.

Khan gave fans something of a preview with ‘I Do’ last month, hinting at a sound sculpted by darker, rawer emotive influences and themes, as best put by the release description: “The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration. Written as the soundtrack for a feature length film in mind, The Bride is Khan’s most ambitious work to date, sonically and visually incorporating an entire world inhabited by The Bride, along with the characters and places she encounters on the way.”
