Listen: Nathan Fake – ‘DEGREELESSNESS’

Set for a 12″ release on the 2nd of December, ‘DEGREELESSNESS’ featuring Prurient, is the debut Ninja Tune release from British electronica veteran Nathan Fake. Taken from a forthcoming album, of which details have not yet been disclosed, the track is a frenzied, rhythmic jam, as adventurous as you’d expect from such a collaboration.

Speaking of the track, Fake has said “‘DEGREELESSNESS’ started off as a 16 bar loop jam which I’d adapted from an existing melodic composition, building rhythms around it with his voice in mind. Dominick [Prurient] delivered a spoken word vocal piece inspired by the track, the lyrical content of which is heavily obscured in the final piece, purposefully so, the whole piece becoming lost in its own echoes, with the human voice emanating from the gaps in between.”

A B-Side, entitled ‘Now We Know’, was written and recorded in 2010 by Fake, according to the press release.
