The first single to be taken from their upcoming debut LP Borealis, ‘Follow’ sees Old Hannah regroup for something of a change of pace. Having been loosely performing live together for some years now, the group of family and friends quickly became a must-see live act in 2013, and the release of a couple of well-received EPs has set them up, in our humble opinion, on the right musical track with this latest effort.
‘Follow’ is a punchy, stirring melodic rumination on love. What’s compelling about the single is that there’s a gleaming pop-sheen from start to finish, a sonic trope not overtly mined by the group before. Certainly a step-forward from the slightly more off-the-cuff Americana and folk they’ve dealt in in recent years, ‘Follow’ is a decidedly more Fleetwood Mac-esque proposition, and one that’s leaving us intrigued at what’s next.
The band will mark the new release with a Dublin launch gig in The Grand Social on Thursday, 15th March.
