Mazzy Star to release first new music in 15 years

Mazzy Star are set to release a new single at the end of the month via Rhymes of an Hour Records.

Double A-side ‘Common Burn’/‘Lay Myself Down’ will be the first new music from the seminal dream pop band since their 1996 album Among My Swan.

Though they never officially disbanded, Mazzy Star been on hiatus for close to 15 years. Fronted by Hope Sandoval and David Roback, the group released three albums in the mid ’90s and their signature dirgey guitar and woozy folk-singing are still influential to this day (most recently Dum Dum Girls – ‘Coming Down’).

Samples of each song may be heard over on Amazon or below in this Youtube clip.
