Monster all-star cast to star in Beastie Boys short film / music video

In December, we reported that an upcoming short “Nathaniel Hornblower” / MCA film production centered around the Beastie Boys ‘Fight For Your Right’ video starred famous actors like Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride.

Well, as pointed out by Consequence Of Sound, who noticed the IMDB cast list, the short film also features Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black as a second Beastie Boys group. Not only that but the film will also star Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Rashida Jones, freakin’ Will Arnett, Ted Danson, Shannyn Sossamon, Steve Buscemi, Amy Poehler, Alicia Silverstone, directors Mike Mills and Roman Coppola, Mary Steenburgen, Jason Schwartzman, Chloë Sevigny, Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Orlando Bloom and the three original members as cops (possibly in Sabotage getup?)

Not only that but Mike D confirmed recently that the short film would serve as the music video to new song ‘Make Some Noise’ which is from the upcoming Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 album. Confusingly, the tracklisting for Part 2 was originally Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 which will come out afterwards.

As they said themselves on their mailing list:

In what can only be described as a bizarre coincidence, following an exhaustive re-sequence marathon, Beastie Boys have verified that their new Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will be composed of the same 16 tracks originally slated for inclusion on Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. The record (part 2 that is) will be released as planned in spring 2011 on Capitol. The tracks originally recorded for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 (which now are actually back on Part 1) have now apparently been bumped to make room for the former Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 material. Wait, what?

Meanwhile, MCA aka Adam Yauch is currently in treatment from cancer and is “hoping to be cancer free in the near future.”
