MP3: Frightened Rabbit – The Modern Leper

Frightened Rabbit

The opening track from Glaswegian band Frightened Rabbit’s forthcoming Midnight Organ Fight (due out April 18th on Fat Cat Records) is a promising taster of what’s to come.

Starting with acoustic guitar galvanised by an the individual Scottish twang of singer Scott, the tune turns into epic slow-burning indie-rock. Like a tasteful, absorbing travel down the Snow Patrol path, albeit one where he seems to be equating his emotional self to a leprosy-affected outcast.

Midnight Organ Fight is to be the band’s second album after last year’s well received Sing The Greys. Stated intentions that it was to be more of a pop album are confirmed on “The Modern Leper” with first single “Heads Roll Off” currently streaming on their MySpace.

The band come to Ireland at the end of February for dates in Belfast (20th), Galway (21st), Cork (22nd) and Dublin (23rd).
